Dusseldorf brew pubs sometimes brew a hoppier Altbier than standard. Usually they do not announce it and allow patrons to enjoy the surprise! We suggest experimenting with some late addition/dry hops of your favorite varieties. There is no wrong answer!
Altbier is a traditional beer with deep historical roots. It is no surprise that Altbier has a long list of food pairings. Try something new such as Meatballs in a White Caper Sauce or Eggs boiled in salt water and cumin with your Alt!
