Description

The Brewers Essentials™ Powered Racking Cane Kit is used to transfer beer from one vessel to another using CO2 to push the fluid between vessels. This eliminates the concern of adding oxygen to your finished beer and reduces the risk of infection during transfer.

Kit Includes:
- 24" Stainless Steel Racking Tube
- 4' 5/16" Beverage Tubing
- Carboy Cab - For 3/5/6 Gallon Carboys
- 5/16" Barbed Swivel Nut
- Swivel Nut Gasket
- Brass CO2 Manifold Barb
- Liquid Disconnect for Keg (Choose your style from the option drop down)

Not Included:
- CO2 Cylinder
- Regulator
- Gas Line

NOTE: Carboys are not meant to hold pressure so do not over pressurize. You assume all responsibility when transferring your beer with the method provided below.

How to use:
1. Sanitize your racking cane assembly to prevent any contamination.
2. Connect your gas line from your regulator to the gas end of your fitting on the carboy hood.
3. Place the vessel with your beverage onto an elevated surface above the vessel that you are transferring into. This will use less pressure and increase user safety.

Carboy to Carboy transfer:
A. Insert your CO2 Racking Cane into the empty carboy.
B. Disconnect the liquid disconnect fitting.
C. Set your regulator to 2 PSI and allow the gas to slowly fill the carboy.
D. Crack open one side of the carboy hood allowing the gas to escape. Do this for 5 seconds.
E. Turn off gas and place your racking cane assembly onto the carboy containing your beverage.
F. Place the liquid line into bottom of the carboy
G. Open the gas and allow the CO2 to push your beer through the racking cane into your empty carboy.

Carboy to Keg transfer:
A. Attach the liquid disconnect to the liquid hose and connect to the liquid post of your keg.
B. Purge your keg with CO2 prior to racking your beer.
C. Set your regulator to 2 PSI and allow the gas to slowly fill the carboy.
D. Crack open one side of the carboy hood allowing the gas to escape. Do this for 5 seconds.
E. Turn off gas and place your racking cane assembly onto the carboy containing your beverage.
F. Place the liquid line into bottom of the carboy
G. Open the gas and allow the CO2 to push your beer through the racking cane into your empty keg.
Optional: Attach a Gas Disconnect and hose to the Gas Line to release pressure during transfer. This will allow you to observe if the keg is being overfilled.
